Tresa Undem
Vice President
Tresa is a vice president at Lake Research Partners and has
been with the firm since 2004. Tresa specializes in conducting
multivariate statistical analyses to examine how messages
and arguments influence attitudes and behavior. She has been
conducting online survey and focus group research since 1999.
Tresa also has an expertise on a wide range of issues affecting
children and young adults. She is currently the principal
investigator on a project for the State of California about
crystal methamphetamine use among young girls and women. This
project involves 35 focus groups, 10 one-on-one interviews,
and intercept and online surveys. The outcome will be an ad
campaign targeting girls that will be launched in 2008.
Tresa has also been working with Michael Perry, a partner
at Lake Research Partners, on message development and testing
studies about SCHIP and children's health coverage, and led
a study for the New England Alliance for Children's Health
on this topic. She is also the co-principal on a national
study on childhood obesity.
At LRP, Tresa's clients include the Human Rights Campaign
(HRC), the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, the California Endowment,
the Kaiser Family Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation,
and the American Cancer Society.
Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a research analyst
at Belden, Russonello & Stewart on a number of progressive
issues. Tresa holds a Masters Degree from the Annenberg School
for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. A native
of Minnesota, she received a BA in English at the University
of Minnesota. She is a member of the American Association
of Public Opinion Research, and has been a presenter and discussant
at its national conferences.
