Lake Research Partners applies its vast knowledge of pubic opinion research to serve outstanding associations, including:

American Association of Museums

American Association of Retired Persons

We looked at different entitlement programs (including Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid) to gauge the support for these programs and to see whether people believe these programs will exist in the future.

American Planning Association

American Association of School Administrators

Our work for the American Association of School Administrators was of a broad scope, using focus groups and a national survey to assess the public's attitudes on the state of our schools, the effect of larger national trends on attitudes about education, and assess the impact of the far right on people's perceptions of our public school system, including an analysis of the voucher alternative. We also conducted a nationwide poll among public school parents, in which we found that parents think schools have improved and they are satisfied with the school their children attend. Parents put the happiness of their children at the top of their list as to what constitutes a good school. Additionally, private schools are not the default for these parents. However, private schools get the edge on providing more discipline and smaller class sizes, while public schools are lauded for their diversity in the student body, as well as the variety in the curriculum.

American Association of University Women

We conducted research for the American Association of University Women Educational Fund (AAUW), which explored women's transitions in life and their decision making around higher education. In this project we conducted focus groups among women who went straight to college after high school, those who went straight to work, and those who returned to school after being in the workforce. We also explored why many women chose to start in a two-year degree program in a community college and then move into a four-year degree program later. We found many women feel that decisions are required very early in life about educational opportunities, when most youth are ill-prepared to make them. Additionally, parents are clearly the most influential when it comes to teen decisions about education and career goals. A huge divide emerged between those whose parents expect them to go to college and those who do not. We also conducted a nationwide survey among women looking at the role of the federal government in education. We found that women are extremely supportive of having the federal government play a role in public education and want to see the government play a large role in this realm

National Association for Public Hospitals and Health Systems

We measured public attitudes toward the healthcare safety net and the role public hospitals play in providing healthcare to the uninsured.

National Association of Secretaries of State

National Parent Teacher Association

We found that education ranked high as an issue in voters' choice for President, as well as being an important issue for Congress to address in the next session.

Texas Planning Association
