Labor Unions
Lake Research Partners has conducted issue, political,
and membership research for many of the nation’s largest
labor unions, and we are highly attuned to the particular
set of challenges faced by unions today. LRP is known for
its insights on the changing concerns and priorities of union
members and for strategic advice on new opportunities for
unions in a changing political environment. Among our current
and former labor clients are:
AFL-CIO
One of our many projects with the AFL-CIO looked at the national
potential to organize women, African Americans and Hispanics.
AFL-CIO Committee on Public Education
AFL-CIO Working Women's Department
Communications Workers of America (CWA)
We helped CWA develop a media campaign encouraging consumers
to choose union companies for cellular phone service as well
as to bolster the union’s negotiating position with
Bell Atlantic.
Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
We are currently conducting a survey of state legislators
for SEIU on health care issues as part of a broader campaign
to increase the salience of the issue.
Connecticut SEIU
New Hampshire SEIU
United Food and Commercial Workers
Our work was part of a successful effort to defeat Proposition
226 in California, the anti-union Paycheck Protection Initiative.
AFGE
American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
Connecticut State Employees Association
International Association of Firefighters (IAFF)
Rural Letter Carriers
